My plan is to create a resource that will not only help students learn and process the information now, but one that they can take with them when they move on to the next level. There are many resources on the internet about how to incorporate interactive notebooks in your classroom so I am not going to go into great detail about how to get started. If you are interested, the teacher in this video does a great job explaining how to set up the notebook with the students at the beginning of the year.

2012-2013 Goal: Incorporating the Interactive Notebook
Every summer, I try to set new goals for the upcoming school year. My goal for the 2012-2013 school year is to implement interactive notebooks. I have always been a big notebook person, but this year, I am going to work on incorporating more foldables, graphic organizers, group activities, warm-ups, etc into the notebook.

I'm planning on implementing interactive notebooks in my high school math classroom this year, and I thought I'd seen almost everything there was to see about them online. But, this video was new to me. It had some great ideas in it. Thanks for sharing!
I teach high school math and have just started including some interactive notes with my students. I've made foldables for the "special right triangles" in Geometry and the kids gave me great feedback.
I know that it takes a good chunk of class time setting up foldables and such, but I find the kids are much more engaged in the note taking process when it's something different.
